Tyson Bostrom: Certified Disaster Restoration With PuroClean

Tyson Bostrom

When Tyson Bostrom first entered the restoration field, he had no idea it would become his long-term calling.

“I had never even heard of the restoration industry when I fell into it,” he says.

Over time, it became clear that certified disaster restoration was more than just a job; it was a career with purpose. Now a PuroClean Franchise Owner, Tyson has turned his years of hands-on experience into a thriving business that supports his customers, his employees, and his community.

From Field Experience to Franchise Ownership

Tyson’s path to owning a property restoration company started with construction work and a friend’s invitation to apply at a competitor in the restoration industry. From there, he worked his way up.

“I started as a technician and worked my way up to a lead estimator/PM role in that company,” he explains, and says that early experience gave him the practical foundation that now fuels his success as a Franchise Owner.

His background in construction also gave him an edge, and that depth of knowledge proved especially valuable when he decided to join PuroClean. After researching the opportunity carefully, he knew it was the right fit.

“I think knowing how to build things helps you be able to take them apart and helps you be able to write both processes,” Tyson says. “Here I am seven years later, beyond happy I took the leap when I did.”

The Power of Certified Disaster Restoration

Certified disaster restoration is about more than just repairing property; it’s about helping people through some of the most difficult days of their lives.

“I have had strangers crying to me on arrival due to the severity of the loss and then giving me the biggest hugs when we are done,” Tyson recalls.

Whether it’s a flooded basement, a fire-damaged home, or mold-contaminated walls, every job brings unique challenges and opportunities to help.

As part of his work, Tyson makes sure customers feel informed and supported. One of the most important things his team does is help customers understand what services they’re receiving. If you’ve ever wondered about remediation services’ meaning, it refers to the specialized process of cleaning, repairing, and restoring property after damage, and Tyson’s team makes sure every step is done with transparency and care.

A Business That Benefits the Community

“I want to be the local company that supports the local rec teams and schools,” he says, knowing his franchise plays a critical role in his local area. “I look at being an owner in a small town as an opportunity to be the ‘mayor’ of the town.”

He says it’s not just about name recognition; it’s about creating meaningful relationships. Attending events, getting involved, and being visible in his community help people know exactly who to call when they need help.

The restoration industry is built on trust, and Tyson believes in treating every customer like family.

“Customers in our community can come to us and expect an honest opinion followed up by very high-quality work,” Tyson says.

Backed by a Strong Franchise Community

Part of what makes PuroClean such a rewarding business is the franchise community behind it. Tyson is one of many PuroClean Franchise Owners who appreciate the support of the network. From the Home Office Support Team to other PuroClean Franchise Owners across North America, there’s always someone ready to offer advice, share ideas, or lend a hand, all while giving new Franchise Owners the resources they need to grow with confidence.

Building a Team and Looking Ahead

After 16 years in the water damage industry, Tyson knows what it takes to build a successful restoration business, but he’s also thinking about the future.

“The future to me in ownership is having a solid staff I can give most of the control to so I can work two to three days a week and pay them handsomely,” he says. Tyson’s long-term goal is to reward his team, enjoy life, and maybe go pro in golf or even win a gold medal in curling.

No matter what comes next, Tyson’s commitment to certified disaster restoration remains clear.

“We help people during some of their most difficult times,” he says. That mission is at the heart of everything he does and why he continues to thrive as a PuroClean Franchise Owner.
