Our New Franchise Owner Training Graduates: Class of October 2019

We’re excited to tell the world about our most recent New Franchise Owner Training (NFT) graduates! NFT is our training program that all our new franchise owners must go through. The program is aimed at helping them to succeed in running their PuroClean office. The October 2019 classes have completed their training and are already serving their communities across the country!

As a franchise network, our main focus is to help communities recover from disasters, so we can’t wait to see the new franchise owners succeed at their locations. Learn more about each graduate below.

Daron Underwood, PuroClean of Westland, Canton, MI

Daron Underwood

Daron served in both the U.S. Army Reserve and U.S. Air Force before receiving his degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from DeVry University. Throughout his career, he spent 19 years at an automation and embedded systems company working through the ranks spending his last ten years as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.

After departing from the corporate world, Daron was in search of his next business venture and discovered the franchising industry. After searching several opportunities, he selected PuroClean after attending Meet the Team Day, where he was impressed by the team’s strong leadership, passion, and knowledge. Daron is joined by his wife, Julie, and their daughter for this entrepreneurial venture.

PuroClean is happy to have Daron and his team of certified, trained professionals join our exceptional network of franchise owners and look forward to their success. His new PuroClean serves the Canton, Westland, Wayne, Belleville, Van Buren, and Sumpter Township areas.

James Scalf, PuroClean of Murfreesboro, Murfreesboro, TN

James Scalf

Before joining PuroClean, James spent over 30 years in the Army stationed around the world. The restoration industry holds a special place in his heart as growing up he and his father helped build and repair people’s homes and churches. Following his military career, James saw PuroClean as a natural fit since he believes in a culture of helping people and is committed to giving back. His two sons have joined him in operating the business as he begins this new journey.

James is committed to providing excellent customer service and PuroClean is excited to watch his unparalleled commitment to his community. James’ new PuroClean office serves Murfreesboro, Smyrna, Lavergne, Eagleville, Lascassas, in addition to areas throughout Williamson, Wilson, Coffee, Bedford, and Cannon counties throughout Tennessee.

Rick and Marie Alice Belmont, PuroClean of Huntington Park, Huntington Park, California

Rick Belmont

Rick brings a variety of experience in the remediation, restoration, and insurance industries. He began his professional career working as a quality assurance director responsible for aircraft maintenance in the New York tri-state airports for twenty years. In 2002, he began working for Insurer’s World, providing insurance carriers with total loss inventories before opening his own business in 2010, offering these services. Throughout this time, Rick obtained the required licenses and training in the insurance industry. In 2016, Rick and his family relocated to Southern California following a trip to the area, where they debuted a restoration company providing demolition services for people during their times of need.

As part of the business, Marie Alice focuses her efforts on marketing, sales, estimating, and office management, meanwhile her husband and his team of certified professionals provide all restoration and remediation services to their customers. Rick and Marie Alice joined PuroClean because they wanted to represent a brand with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Additionally, the brand’s understanding and compassion for people in their time of need resonated well with their values.

Rick and Marie Alice have three children and love to spend time together as a family. They have been doing exceptionally well since they joined the company, and PuroClean can’t wait to see what the future has in store for them! Their PuroClean office serves California within Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire areas.

Ryan Engle, PuroClean of Durango, Durango, CO

Ryan Engle

Before purchasing a PuroClean franchise, Ryan served as a police officer in La Plata County for over 20 years. He is a fifth-generation resident of Southwest Colorado and attended Fort Lewis College where he majored in psychology. At the beginning of his career, he worked in detentions before transiting into patrol, where he attained the rank of Corporal and Field Training Coordinator. In 2003, He began working with the Southwest Drug Task Force (SWDTF) as a Narcotics Investigator until he was promoted to Lieutenant/Drug Unit Commander of the SWDTF.

Throughout this time, Ryan also explored several entrepreneurial ventures. He founded a mortgage brokerage in 2001 called Four Corners Lending as well as purchased a hair salon, Lemon Head Hair Salon, with his wife, Alayna, who continues to run the daily operations for the salon.

Ryan decided to open a PuroClean franchise as he was looking for an opportunity that would allow him to continue his passion for helping his local community following his retirement. He knew he had found the right opportunity after researching PuroClean and learning about the brand’s values and strong leadership team.
