Ready to start your PuroClean franchise ownership journey?

Here’s what you’ll learn after reading this article:

  • Seven PuroClean Franchise Owners formed the “Young Guns” Impact Group to share successful strategies and hold each other accountable.
  • Members scale their operations by taking on large commercial loss projects and integrating AI tools into daily workflows like marketing and estimating.
  • PuroClean’s proven model gives Franchise Owners a strong foundation to operations efficiently and pursue long-term franchise business growth.

A group of seven Franchise Owners, fondly known as the “Young Guns,” are leveraging PuroClean’s proven business model and new technology as well as sharing successful methods with each other to supercharge their franchise business growth.

Although they are called the Young Guns, this PuroClean Impact Group is defined by mindset rather than age. These operators show initiative, embrace changing technology rather than shy away from it, and connect with each other to boost accountability, continuous improvement, and franchise growth.

Building on a Proven Franchise Model

Starting with PuroClean’s time-tested business model allows Franchise Owners to focus on refining execution and efficiency to increase profitability. This is important for Young Guns like Alejandro Restrepo.

“We’re not building from scratch—we’re building on a proven platform,” Restrepo says.

For Impact Group member Melissa Wittig, PuroClean’s proprietary software system, called PuroLogic, is key to consistency for her business in the property damage restoration industry.

“It’s really the backbone of our daily operations… We’re seeing the ROI continue to increase,” she says.

Seizing Opportunities for Large Loss Restoration

Another hallmark of the Young Guns is their willingness to move beyond small residential restoration projects and dive into high-margin opportunities that come with commercial property restoration.

Exposure to these large loss commercial projects has accelerated business for Young Guns like Ryan Back.

“That experience challenged us to raise our standards, refine our processes, and think bigger about what’s possible within the PuroClean system,” Back says.

Franchise Owner Drew Owens views it as a mindset shift, noting that there is a much higher ceiling for growth than previously considered, as long as the right processes are in place.

Brian Towne echoes that perspective, saying, “One of our most recent large loss projects will be almost four times what we did in revenue in our first full year in business.”

Using AI Tools for Training and Development

In addition to thinking bigger with large loss commercial projects, the Young Guns differentiate themselves by utilizing new technology like AI and embedding it in their daily operations while many others are still catching up with these modern advances or resisting change altogether.

For example, Back applies AI across communication and workflows. “We’re using it for insurer justification notes, estimate support language, and developing sales and marketing materials…which has noticeably improved our closing ratio,” he explains.

Andy Tai focuses on running an efficient franchise operation. “We use AI in client communications, scope writing, and estimating. It helps us respond faster and communicate more clearly.”

Meanwhile, Restrepo harnesses the power of AI in marketing, which is crucial for franchise growth strategies. “We’re using AI to align messaging with real search behavior, seasonal risks, and local trends,” he says.

Tapping Into the Network for Success Strategies

Although technology can give Franchise Owners a leg up, the Young Guns know that operating alone prevents them from further propelling their property restoration business toward success. Talking with one another allows for real-world insight into what methods are helpful and which ones are a waste of time.

With this in mind, the Young Guns have created a network to share execution and problem-solving strategies, providing them with a competitive advantage.

“Everyone genuinely leaves their ego at the door,” says Michael Sobczak. “It makes it easy to have open, honest conversations about what’s actually working and what isn’t.”

Owens finds that associating with other successful Franchise Owners motivates him to strive for excellence.

“Being surrounded by high-performing operators has raised my own standards,” he says.
