Here’s what you’ll learn after reading this article:

  • PuroClean’s Business Development Team generates roughly 25% of the company’s total revenue through 20+ nationwide insurance coverage relationships, which include three of the top five national carriers.
  • The Home Office establishes Master Service Agreements and standard pricing guidelines to eliminate negotiating, remove red tape, and streamline automatic job dispatches and claim payouts for Franchise Owners.
  • Franchise Owners are vetted through the Certified Priority Response Process to ensure high operational standards, earning them accelerated credibility, consistent job flow, and higher profit margins.

With over 85% of homes insured in the U.S. and more than $103 billion in insured losses from nationwide catastrophes in 2025, you can bet the first call made after a disaster is typically to an insurer.

That’s why PuroClean has partnered with major carriers for decades to develop nationwide insurance coverage relationships that trickle down to the local level. Nurturing these partnerships has solidified a franchise support system of established connections, streamlined workflows, and steady revenue for our Franchise Owners.

A History of Partnership

In the beginning, PuroClean built insurance relationships one at a time, which involved persistence, credibility, and proof of performance market by market. That determination set the stage for our first two significant national insurance affiliations as we strengthened coverage and consistency.

Jack Boyd, who now serves as Senior Advisor to the President, was a key proponent of that period of growth and transition. His partnerships helped PuroClean create a presence in the insurance industry and approach a more formal, scalable business model.

“PuroClean’s business development strategy has undergone a significant transformation since the acquisition of PuroSystems by Mark W. Davis and Frank Torre in 2015,” said Boyd. “Our brand has transitioned from a traditional restoration model to a sophisticated, data-driven franchise system that emphasizes high-value partnerships, advanced technology, and a franchise-first culture.”

The Business Development Team

In 2025, PuroClean’s Business Development Team generated $80,000,000, about 25% of the company’s total revenue, through 20+ nationwide insurance coverage relationships. Partners include three of the top five national insurance carriers, commercial clients, and third-party administrator (TPA) networks.

PuroClean’s franchise business development roster consists of Account Coordinators, National Account Managers, and National Sales Directors who oversee each partnership with top-tier service and support. Will Southcombe has been with the team from its early relations through the current national system.

“We have seen tremendous growth in revenue from our program partnerships, and all of those partners rely on the quality of our operations and our full compliance with the various program SLA’s and guidelines,” he said. “We have always based our sales efforts on the quality of the PuroClean network and the overall commitment to Relentless Customer Service as we, together, build a truly World-Class Brand.”

Partnership Negotiations

When working with nationwide insurance coverage carriers, the Home Office secures standardized pricing guidelines to prevent case-by-case negotiating. With these agreements, Franchise Owners can get to work on water mitigation without red-tape delays.

The Home Office creates Master Service Agreements (MSAs) with the top national insurance carriers and TPAs, so Franchise Owners don’t have to compete for referrals. This documentation allows the automatic dispatch of a PuroClean Franchise as a preferred provider when a property owner files a claim.

With unified billing protocols, the Home Office helps Franchise Owners get faster claim approvals and experience a smoother payout process. The high-level relationships maintained with insurance claims executives at major industry events also give PuroClean national visibility to continue adding partnerships to help Franchise Owners maximize revenue.

The Franchise Owner’s Role

Since Franchise Owners receive access to insurance and commercial accounts, PuroClean vets entrepreneurs through the Certified Priority Response Process. This verification ensures that crews are prepared to complete jobs that meet our partners’ standards.

As part of the vetting process, a PuroClean representative works with a Franchise Owner to confirm they satisfy the requirements and can onboard their territories accordingly. In return, entrepreneurs enjoy accelerated credibility, consistent job flow, and higher profit margins.

“Large insurance carriers continue to partner with us because of the high standards we have for every Franchise Owner across the country,” said Chairman and CEO Mark W. Davis. “We train each PuroClean Franchise Owner to work efficiently and professionally, and excellent customer service drives our success.”

Insurance Carrier Advantages of a Franchise

For property damage restoration franchises, partnerships with nationwide insurance coverage carriers pave the way for referrals and lay a foundation for growth. PuroClean Home Office Support Team members work with insurance companies to build and maintain these relationships, taking market dynamics, client needs, and franchise operations into account.
