Leadership begins long before military service and continues long after it ends. That message, encouraging service members to explore leadership, was at the heart of a recent visit as PuroVet welcomed the Boca Raton Composite Squadron Group 9 of the Civil Air Patrol to the PuroClean Home Office following their outstanding Presentation of the Colors at the 2026 PuroClean International Convention.

The visit provided cadets with an opportunity to explore how the leadership principles they are developing today can translate into meaningful careers, business ownership, and continued service to their communities in the future.

Hosted by PuroClean’s Chief Operating Officer, George Hernandez, the cadets toured the Home Office and learned about the essential work performed by PuroClean Franchise Owners across North America. Hernandez introduced the group to the wide range of restoration services provided by PuroClean, including water damage restoration, fire and smoke remediation, mold mitigation, biohazard cleanup, and emergency response.

One of the day’s highlights was an interactive visit to PuroClean’s Flood House, where the cadets experienced firsthand how hidden moisture affects a structure following water damage. Crawling beneath the home and exploring the science behind restoration gave them a unique look into an industry built around helping families and businesses recover after unexpected disasters.

During lunch, PuroClean President, Steve White spoke with the cadets about the lifelong value of military service and the leadership skills that continue to create opportunities well beyond a military career. Drawing from his experience as a former U.S. Army Captain, White shared how discipline, accountability, resilience, teamwork, and adaptability become the foundation for success in business ownership and leadership.

Those same principles are the driving force behind PuroVet, PuroClean’s veteran program dedicated to helping qualified veterans transition into franchise ownership. Through financial incentives, comprehensive training, mentorship, and ongoing operational support, PuroVet provides a veteran advantage with a pathway to continue serving their communities while building successful businesses.

Programs like Civil Air Patrol play an important role in developing future leaders by instilling values of integrity, service, excellence, and respect. Those qualities closely align with the mission of PuroVet, which believes the leadership developed through military service is one of the strongest foundations for entrepreneurship.

The visit was about more than introducing cadets to the restoration industry, it was about demonstrating that servant leadership has many paths. Whether serving in uniform, leading a business, or helping communities recover after disasters, the commitment to serving others remains the same.

Before departing, each cadet received a PuroClean gift bag, as well as meaningful gesture from PuroClean Vice Chairman, Frank Torre. In support of the Civil Air Patrol’s ongoing mission to develop future leaders, Torre presented the squadron with a gift that will enable them to purchase additional equipment, expanding their training capabilities and creating opportunities for even more cadets to learn, grow, and lead.
