PuroClean’s PuroVet program proudly served as Presenting Sponsor of the 2026 National Veteran Business Development Council (NVBDC) National Conference, Mission: POSSIBLE, held October 4-6 at MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. The conference brought together corporate leaders, veteran business owners, and resource partners to strengthen relationships and expand opportunities for veteran entrepreneurs.
For our team, it was an opportunity to take center stage, share the PuroVet mission, and connect directly with the people and organizations helping veterans succeed in business.
Kicking Off the Conference With PuroVet
The conference kicked off with Brigadier General (Ret.) Doug “Odie” Slocum addressing the audience about the PuroVet program and its support for veteran entrepreneurship.
Having a respected military leader introduce PuroVet at the opening of the event was a meaningful moment for our team. It put our commitment to the military community front and center and helped set the tone for a conference focused on turning veteran experience into business opportunity.
The conference also featured keynote speaker Keni Thomas, a U.S. Army Ranger veteran of the Battle of Mogadishu, the mission depicted in Black Hawk Down. His experience brings a powerful perspective on leadership, teamwork, and responsibility—qualities that connect military service with the challenges of business ownership.
PuroClean Recognized as Mission Partner of the Year
One of our proudest moments was seeing Frank Torre, Vice Chairman of PuroClean, accept NVBDC’s Mission Partner of the Year award.
For our team, the recognition reflected Frank’s continued commitment to veterans and his leadership in championing PuroVet. His support helps advance a program built around the belief that military experience provides a strong foundation for the veteran entrepreneur.
Through PuroVet, veterans can explore PuroClean franchise ownership with training, business resources, and ongoing support to help them pursue their next mission in the property restoration industry.

Building Relationships With Corporate Members and Veteran Business Owners
Throughout the conference, our team met with NVBDC corporate members, sharing the PuroVet mission and discussing the importance of supporting veteran Franchise Owners.
These conversations offered opportunities to strengthen relationships and connect with organizations that recognize the value veterans bring to the marketplace.
We also spent time with veteran business owners, learning about their companies, exchanging experiences, and discussing their goals. Those personal connections were among the most meaningful parts of the event. They reinforced the importance of bringing veterans, corporate decision-makers, and business resources together in the same room.
For veterans interested in franchise ownership, we shared how PuroVet offers a pathway to apply their leadership and operational experience while building a business that serves their community.
Supporting the Military Community Beyond the Conference
Our presenting sponsorship reflects PuroClean’s ongoing commitment to veterans, military families, and the communities they serve. Through PuroVet, that commitment takes shape in opportunities for business ownership, access to support, and relationships with organizations working to advance veteran entrepreneurship.
We thank NVBDC, its corporate members, and every veteran business owner who connected with us in Detroit at the Mission: POSSIBLE conference. We also congratulate Frank Torre on PuroClean’s Mission Partner of the Year recognition.
